F1 2021 Game Announced

Codemasters are releasing their first F1 game (F1 2021) of the franchise under the Electronic Arts label this year, after a $1.2 billion dollar merger with the company. The game will be released on the 16th of July and is available to pre-order right now

Codemasters held exclusive rights to the game since 2009, but EA has struck a deal with the company and merged together.

The new game will have a brand new game mode; Braking Point. This mode will be a story mode, where the drive (you) will be competing in Formula 2, trying to reach the highest level of motorsport; F1.

In addition, the “My Team” mode, introduced last year, will be staying in the game with extra drivers. “Real-Season Start” will allow the player to start at any point in the season, with real-world drivers’ and constructors’ standings reflected as appropriate.

“Braking Point is an exciting innovation”

Also making a return are shorter seasons for F1 and F2 esports and two-player split-screen mode. Career has also got another upgrade, as friends will now be able to join your races online. Three circuits, Portimao, Imola and Jeddah have also been added to the game.

Preorders have already opened earlier today, and those that purchase the Standard edition before the 16th of July will receive Braking Point content pack, as well as 5,000 PitCoins.

Those pre-ordering the Digital Deluxe version will have everything in Standard, but also a 3-day early-access pass to the game, and an extra 13,0000 PitCoins, to total 18,000.

“We are creating more choice and new ways to play. Real-Season Start allows players to align their career to the F1® season,” said Paul Jeal, F1 Senior Franchise Director at Codemasters. “The addition of a two-player Career brings new challenges to the iconic game mode. Players can now choose to play co-operatively and share in the success or compete and strive for personal glory.”

You can see the different car models and a description of the game on Codemaster’s Official Website or in the trailer above.
